German manufacturer Hönle’s jetCURE LED system for inkjet applications has been redesigned and is now available in two different versions, jetCURE LED T and jetCURE LED S.

The JetCURE range offers infrared, hot air, UV and UV LED drying and curing systems for inkjet printing. Both new versions are UV LED curing systems with integrated air-cooling, differing in the way they discharge exhaust air.

The jetCURE LED T has a cooling air outlet on both sides of the housing, with the exhaust air discharged towards the top. This version works with inkjet printing machines where the curing unit is integrated into a housing and mounted on the print carriage, or is fixed onto an R2R plant.

Meanwhile, the jetCURE LED S is designed to be free-mounted on the print carriage. It offers a one-sided cooling air outlet, with the exhaust air led sideways. This prevents a direct airflow towards the printing heads which could have an impact on print quality.

In addition to the cooling, other new features of the redesigned range include reduced weight, less mechanical load on the print carriage and variable length. The width of the light aperture can be either 20 or 40mm, with the latter option guaranteeing a longer irradiation time and therefore a higher UV dose on the substrate.

Depending on LED-assembly and wavelength, the system can reach intensities of up to 18,000mW/cm², allowing for fast throughput times.
