Patrick Berveling has joined Dutch package printing company Geostick, seeing the fourth generation of the family that founded the business now fully recruited to its ranks.

34-year-old Mr Berveling has joined Geostick in the role of purchasing manager. He follows Ryan Berveling, who is focused on inside sales, and Kevin Berveling, finance and control manager.

Purchasing manager is a new role at Geostick, with changes in the market, innovations and geopolitical influences necessitating an in-house purchasing department within the company. Patrick Berveling will set up this new department in his position as purchasing manager.

He reports to operations director Cees Schouten, who said, ‘In recent years, we have seen that a focus on material procurement is of great importance to our operational organisation. Thanks to strategic choices, we have been able to produce for and deliver to our customers during scarcity and price wars. The continuous innovations in the market also make it necessary to sit around the table with suppliers.

‘I am therefore looking forward to us taking this next step with Patrick within our growing organisation.’

Patrick Berveling said, ‘I am looking forward to starting a new chapter of my life, at the family business that has always felt like a second home. Geostick is located in a continuously moving market with challenging issues from our customers. After 10 years of experience elsewhere in the business world, I see great importance in focusing on strategic procurement with an eye for sustainability development.’

Ryan Berveling, Geostick

Ryan was the first of the fourth generation of the Berveling family to join Geostick

Geostick celebrates its centenary in 2024, having been founded as Gooische Emaille Platen Industrie (GEPI) in 1924 by P.J. Berveling. He lead the company until 1971. His son A. Berveling joined the business in 1951 and oversaw a switch in focus to self-adhesive labels and the rebranding to Geostick during the 1970s. The third-generation, Peter Berveling, joined the business in 1988. The fourth generation of the Berveling family first entered the business at the turn of the decade, when Ryan Berveling came on board.

Geostick first added digital in 2004, with the company’s use of the technology advancing up to and beyond the opening of its Digital Printing Center.
