Prime label specialist ASL Print FX is to shortly install a Domino N610i UV inkjet digital press in Canada, as it seeks to further realise the benefits of digital printing.

The converter, which operates locations in California and North Carolina in the US and Ontario, Canada, serves multiple beverage and packaged goods markets, from wine, spirits and beer, to food, heath and beauty, household products and automotive.

ASL Print FX has existing experience of digital print for labels and packaging, having taken possession of an MPS EF Symjet hybrid line in late 2018, which is powered by a Domino N610i engine. This press is installed at its location in Napa, California. Prior to that, ASL Print FX had exposure to and experience of digital print through an HP Indigo digital press.

The standalone Domino will be installed at the ASL Print FX Toronto site next month (September 2021). Stacy Daly, the company’s vice president and general manager, Toronto, Ontario, commented, ‘When we looked at starting up our facility in Napa, we looked at multiple technologies and platforms. We knew that hybrid presses combine the best of digital and analogue printing. It’s a total solution that gives many options, and both Domino and MPS have outstanding reputations for quality.’

Mr Daly added that the company’s hybrid line has afforded it ‘versatility’ and ‘unlimited possibilities’, and specifically noted, ‘The press allows us versatility to compete in several markets at the same time.’

Such capability will now extend to customers of ASL Print FX Toronto. Mr Daly’s colleague Travis Pollard, vice president and general manager, Napa, California, added, ‘We work with brand owners to solve problems with creative solutions. We connect consumers with brands and turn shoppers into buyers. This culture permeates throughout our company to this day. In an industry once defined by limitations, ASL Print FX is using its technical capability to create new possibilities.

‘In all of our markets our customers deserve the highest quality print produced by a team of specialists paying attention to the smallest details to produce the highest quality product.  Our customers demand high quality labels and rely on tight timelines to meet labelling dates. They require communication and a high level of customer service. Most importantly, they require a printer that works with them closely, as partners, to elevate their brand within the budget.’

He continued, ‘Our key objectives centre around continued growth of our business. We are looking to expand deeper into the markets we currently serve.’

Mr Daly concluded, ‘Our customers and prospects should know that we are here to help them through the whole process. We encourage them to bring us in early on the project and use our services to get the most out of their design. They should know that dealing with ASL is a partnership, we are in this together. We value communication, cooperation, and we share the same end-goal.’

Digital helped ASL Print FX claim a first place prize in the 2020 TLMI Awards competition, for the ‘Anarchist Wine Company’ label. Inkjet was used to create various iterations of the winning label before the final design was complete.
