Birmingham, UK-based Dippon Limited has upgraded its label printing operations with the addition of a Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 toner digital press.

Based in the heart of Birmingham, Dippon serves a customer base that includes small artisan food manufacturers and textile producers. The company was finding matching its customers’ demands a challenge using conventional letterpress machines alone and had been looking for the right digital press for its needs and budget for a considerable period of time before selecting the Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230.

Specifically, the press provides Dippon with enhanced flexibility in the types of labelling services it offers customers, whilst reducing running costs and benefitting from high-quality print results, reliability, ease of use, and support from Konica Minolta.

Dippon sales director Akkshada Shah explained, ‘We recognised the need to move to a digital press to flexibly futureproof our services, but we needed to ensure it was the right product for our business. This involved considering not only the quality of output, but also the overall investment and running costs, along with the right level of manufacturer support. Having spoken in depth to the team at Konica Minolta, we were reassured on all these points, have been very impressed with the results and support, and feel that we made this investment with the right supplier at the right time.’

Steve Lakin, label press sales consultant at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK), said ‘The AccurioLabel 230 is perfectly placed to support small to medium print businesses like Dippon looking to make a highly cost-effective jump to a powerful and flexible digital solution, whilst reducing running costs and simplifying the whole process. We also provide expert localised engineer support, to ensure our customers continue to make the most of their vital investment.’

Ms Shah added, ‘We have a superb young team of print experts, who have seamlessly transferred to working with the new digital press, despite the inevitable changes and improvements in the business workflow. Not only does it remove the need to prepare printing plates – and associated set-up costs and time –, but the digital press also delivers great scope to use different print media for a wider range of options for our customers.

‘Our existing customers are highly impressed with the results of our powerful new digital press, and it has already helped us adjust to the rapidly changing circumstances of social distancing, whilst also winning new business. We see a bright future for our business, safe in the knowledge we have invested in the right flexible and cost-effective digital print solution to meet the needs of our business customers well into the future.’
