Vivid Laminating Technologies has extended its VeloBlade range of die-cutting systems with the addition of four Volta models.

The company introduced VeloBlade last year as a new flatbed cutter to extend the services printers offer, to create unique and intricate products, and to remove the need for outsourcing.

At launch, the system was cited as handling a variety of stocks and sizes, ranging between 210 x 297mm to 600 x 400mm, and paper, plastic board, PVC board, PU, cardboard, rubber sheet or marking film. Cutting is at up to 1000mm/s, with SRA3 taking between 15-45 seconds per sheet depending on the complexity of the cut or crease.

Reporting ‘incredible success’ with the range, Vivid Laminating Technologies has taken the decision to expand the range with Volta, which gives users the ability to cut anything from kiss cut labels up to 10mm thickness.

Available in two sizes, 600 x 400mm and 600 x 900mm, the Volta range comprises four systems – Volta 64, Volta 69, Volta 64+ and 69+. The key difference in these systems being that ‘+’ models have a cut depth of up to 10mm with optional oscillating tool whereas the standard Volta 64 and 69 cut up to 2mm.

All of these systems allow the ability to completely automate production. A barcode reader allows Volta machines to process multiple jobs at once, freeing operators up to work on other projects. With 150mm of auto-feed sheet capacity as well as roll fed functionality, the Volta systems are designed to give, ‘the best possible finishes, efficiently and cost-effectively,’ according to the company

Richard Marlow, sales director at Vivid Laminating Technologies, said, ‘Throughout the pandemic we’ve seen many of our customers seeking ways to diversify and offer services they’ve previously had to outsource. Consistently, one of the biggest outsourcing costs we’ve seen is die-cutting. By extending the VeloBlade range we’re now able to provide businesses a variety of systems with different capabilities.’

As well as VeloBlade Volta, the company has added Nexus, a range of wide format digital die-cutters comprising an optional CNC Router for cuts up to 25mm.

Mr Marlow added, ‘From kiss cutting right through to 25mm, there is a system to suit every application.’
