Interket AB has invested in a Xeikon CX300, the digital printing specialist’s latest dry toner digital label press.

CX300 is a recently announced dry toner digital label printing platform from Xeikon, based on its Cheetah 2.0 technology, with a maximum printing speed of 30m/min and a resolution of 1200dpi. It supersedes the Cx3.

The Interket Group of companies serves a wide range of sectors across Western Europe including manufacturing, security, logistics, chemicals, dairy, food, beverage and healthcare. The group is headquartered in Denmark with additional sites in Holland, Germany, Sweden and the UK.

Stefan Gustafsson, managing director at Interket AB, located in Helsingborg, Sweden, commented, ‘We pride ourselves in offering our customers quality self-adhesive labels that are fit for purpose. This machine will complement our existing plant, which only includes conventional presses that are excellent for medium to long run work. However, to meet the needs of our market and provide a platform to diversify, we investigated the potential benefits digital would give us for short-run work including variable designs and the opportunity to personalise or build in promotional campaigns for our customers across a multitude of markets.’

Mr Gustafsson continued, We have been impressed by the Xeikon CX300´s overall equipment effectiveness (OEE); it runs on most of our standard stock materials but also gives us the ability to work with customers to develop new and exciting ways to enhance their label designs and achieve the stand-out on the shelf they desire.

‘The versatile workflow and fast changeovers mean this can be done efficiently, which is vital in an increasingly competitive market place. Ultimately this investment will broaden our product portfolio to existing and new customers, and deliver the flexibility, variety and delivery performance they need. Exciting times lie ahead.’

Xeikon sales director Hans Gerinckx said, ‘With a top speed of 30 m/min, the Xeikon CX300 allows the use of substrate widths up to 330mm, which will offer Interket AB versatility in the short-run market. What makes it unique is the full rotary printing with a variable repeat length, hence label dimension is not impacting the press speed; actually, you could even print labels more than one metre long. All this happens at print resolution of 1200 x 3600dpi and with a dry toner offering the highest level of food safety amongst all digital technologies.’
