Following the delivery last October of a d-Flex roll to roll system from long-term partner Focus Label Machinery, IIJ has been demonstrating the versatility of its print engines to customers.

The new Focus system has recently been used in extended print quality reliability trials for a security printing customer and a high-volume packaging company. The trials included printing 600dpi variable data on a non-stop 2000 metre run at 130m/min, and 360dpi variable data at 200m/min with low migration ink.

The company will continue with more trials and demonstrations of high-quality colour labels, flexible packaging, packaging foil, premium carton and security printing over the next few weeks.

Managing director John Corrall commented, ‘The Focus base performed very well during the trials. One of the media being printed was a very thin film, so we were very pleased that the base handled it without complaint. Tracking and tension control were good, and the customer was pleased with the print quality.’
