Vegware packaging made from plants

The Museum of Brands, in London, is opening a new display, exploring the latest in sustainable packaging. This is the second in a series of exhibitions in partnership with ThePackHub that look at different aspects of current and future packaging innovation.

Opening on 22 February, the new display presents a selection of recent initiatives designed by brands to help reduce packaging’s burden on the environment. The latest launches of sustainable packs from Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, Lush and Fairy will feature. Visitors will also be able to see examples of packaging technology by brands specialising in sustainable solutions, such as Vegware, Sulpac and Elopak. These include packs created from ocean waste and plant-based materials, edible packaging, upcycling and more.

‘Sustainability is a core subject for today’s society and one the Museum updates on and presents to audiences regularly,’ said Chris Griffin, CEO of Museum of Brands. ‘This exhibit allows us explore the very latest technological advances in sustainable packaging that are available to consumers with the aim of stimulating further debate on complex questions surrounding sustainability.’
