Friedheim International has expanded its long-standing partnership with Scodix, broadening its offering of digital print finishing, embellishment and converting technologies across the UK and Ireland.
Under a revised agreement, Friedheim will provide Scodix’s full portfolio of digital embellishment solutions to customers throughout the region. The move gives printers, converters and packaging specialists access to Scodix technologies through Friedheim’s sales and support network.
A key element of the expanded partnership is the addition of the Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD, a digital embellishment press designed for rigid and corrugated substrates. The press was formally launched at the Fespa exhibition in Barcelona and will be distributed through Friedheim’s Corrugated and Carton Division.
According to the companies, the Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD is the first digital embellishment press developed specifically for rigid and corrugated materials. It is designed to apply tactile, high-definition finishes directly onto substrates including corrugated board, acrylic, Dibond, aluminium composites, Forex and other rigid media.
The technology is intended for use across sectors including signage and display, luxury packaging, point-of-sale and point-of-purchase materials, and commercial print. The system is designed to support shorter production runs, faster turnaround times and digital production workflows.
The Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD uses the company’s SHD technology platform and supports applications including foil, tactile enhancements, variable embellishment and special effects without the need for traditional analogue tooling.
Darren Crane, managing director at Friedheim International, said: “Scodix has consistently led the market in digital embellishment innovation, and we are delighted to expand our partnership both into new markets with the new technology. The Ultra 7000 SHD creates exciting opportunities for customers looking to push creative boundaries across packaging, display graphics, and commercial print applications – a sector which is very exciting for us at this time”
The expanded agreement reflects both companies’ focus on supporting print businesses through digital embellishment, automation and production technologies.
The Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD is available immediately through Friedheim International and is expected to be showcased at industry events during 2026.
