Heidelberg and MK Masterwork have renewed and expanded their long-term partnership to accelerate automation and integration across packaging production lines.

Marking ten years of collaboration, the new agreement focuses on developing end-to-end, highly automated solutions that connect printing, finishing, and logistics processes – areas increasingly important to converters adopting hybrid and digital workflows. The partnership also includes the integration of MK Masterwork’s robotics systems, designed to streamline intralogistics and boost productivity.

Since 2015, Heidelberg has installed around 1500 MK Masterwork systems worldwide, including die-cutters, gluers, and hot-foil stamping machines used in folding carton production. Both companies said the extended collaboration will strengthen their ability to deliver complete packaging systems with greater connectivity and workflow efficiency.

According to Heidelberg chief technology and sales officer Dr David Schmedding, the agreement supports the company’s strategy of offering fully integrated packaging solutions for customers seeking higher automation and flexibility. MK Masterwork president Li Li added that the partnership continues to expand both firms’ presence in the global packaging finishing market.

The announcement coincided with MK Masterwork’s 30th anniversary and Heidelberg’s 175th year in operation.
