Bar Graphic Machinery (BGM) has introduced two new finishing machines, the Compact and Compact Pro, aimed at digitally printed label applications requiring lamination, varnish and die-cutting.

According to the company, a significant proportion of digitally printed label work does not require advanced embellishment features such as foiling, embossing or laser die-cutting. However, many converters continue to process this work on multifunction finishing lines, which BGM says can contribute to production bottlenecks and scheduling challenges.

The Compact range has been developed to provide a dedicated finishing option for standard label applications, operating at speeds of up to 100m/min within a compact footprint.

Both the Compact and Compact Pro feature a 370mm web width and include overlamination, a flexo unit for rotary flood varnish at 360mm, semi-rotary die-cutting at 360mm, crush or razor slitting, matrix waste removal and dual rewind capability.

The Compact Pro includes an additional flexo station, enabling light embellishment options such as spot varnish or cold foil. The machines measure 2.5m and 3.5m in length respectively and are designed for production environments where floor space may be limited.

Commenting on the launch, Adam James, managing director of BGM, said the new range is intended to offer a simpler finishing solution for standard label applications and help reduce congestion in finishing departments.
