Screen has confirmed its participation at drupa 2024, using the theme ‘Creating a Future in Print – Tech x Irodori’ to illustrate its efforts to ‘make the world a more colourful place through printing’.

The basic meaning of irodori is ‘to colour’, although it can also be taken to mean, ‘to change a thing’s shape or appearance and make it more beautiful or more interesting.’

‘In today’s highly uncertain world,’ as stated by Screen, ‘the printing industry faces constant change, demanding new forms of value creation at an unprecedented pace. Over the past 80 years, Screen has been a leader in the pre-press and printing field, creating a wide variety of innovative products and working closely with its customers to make the world a more colourful place through printing.

‘In 2024, Screen is poised to elevate its collaboration with customers, integrating offset and digital presses at an unprecedented level to deliver a new future for printing. At drupa 2024, the company has chosen a theme of ‘Creating a Future in Print – Tech x Irodori’, where visitors to our booth will gain valuable insights into the transformative impact of industry cooperation on the future of printing.’

As well as considerations on the future of print through cooperation, the company’s core technologies for digital label and package printing will feature on its stand in hall 8a. This is to include the Truepress Label 350UV SAI S inkjet range of UV presses with a newly developed digital primer unit. Truepress Pac 520P for printing on paper packaging using water-based inks will be shown. The company intends to present a range of label and packaging samples utilising eco-friendly base materials, introducing sustainable and productivity-enhancing options for digital inkjet printing of small and medium lot jobs. For industrial inkjet digital printing of flexible packaging, Screen now has Truepress Pac 830F. Whilst the press in its entirety will not be exhibited, an as-yet unidentified ‘integral part’ of the inkjet system for flexible packaging films will be showcased. This system again uses water-based food compliant inks.
