INX International Ink’s inaugural Sustainability Report has detailed the company’s ongoing efforts to become a ‘greener company’.

In 2020, INX introduced its Coloring a Safe and Sustainable Future (CSSF) model, which supports the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and aligns UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the company’s three main areas of impact: product design, process design and social responsibility. Specifically, CSSF was developed as a means to illustrate how sustainability is integrated into the strategic as well as the day-to-day activities of INX, guiding the company as it works to improve its sustainability performance whilst also addressing the needs of brand owners, customers, and consumers.

As an illustration of this and the developments already being made, all INX printing facilities in North America have committed to achieving a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. In addition, some 5.5% less waste was sent to landfills in 2022 compared to 2021 and product developments such as Genesis washable inks enable greater recycling levels. A focus on occupational health and safety as an ESG priority decreased the company’s accident rate 27.3% in 2022 when compared to 2021.

INX International Ink president and CEO Bryce Kristo said, ‘As an industry leader and providing customers for decades with a broad range of commercial, packaging and digital printing applications, we are dedicated to developing products that create value for our customers and help safeguard our planet.

‘We recognise the value of investing in the Circular Economy, and we have identified specific steps to improve how we manage our resources and eliminate waste through better product and process designs. By aligning our CSSF model with the United Nations 2030 Agenda – and combining it with the proper focus and our extensive R&D capabilities – I am confident we will help our customers innovate and achieve their sustainability goals while delivering greater value to their customers.’

A newly-published 36-page Sustainability Report emphasises such developments and INX’s, ‘continuing commitment to become a greener company, and how it translates into providing customers with best-in-class ink and technology solutions that enable world-class printing standards.’

Whilst the full report can be downloaded here, the following thought is shared in it as a conclusion: ‘We recognise the increased attention from customers, shareholders and employees to embrace and embed sustainability within a business’ products, services, and culture. This isn’t new to INX International Ink; we have always taken sustainability seriously. We recognise that, in the course of delivering high-quality products and services, we have a duty to do so in a sustainable and socially-responsible manner.

‘We are dedicated to driving increased sustainability throughout our value chain – with our suppliers, customers, and the communities and regions in which we live and operate.’
