The L9 World Label Association (WLA) has confirmed the winners in this year’s Best of the Best Awards, with AWT Labels & Packaging Anaheim claiming the prize in the ‘Digital Printing’ category.

The World Label Awards is an annual competition organised by the L9, an international group of label associations that includes Finat (Europe), JFLP (Japan), TLMI (US), FPLMA (Australia), SALMA (New Zealand), LMAI (India) and CPA (China). In total 69 entries were received from member companies of these associations, resulting in 23 class winners and 14 honourable mentions.

The L9 awards are judged by an international panel and once the main judging has been completed, the winning labels are judged again in the following main printing process classes: flexography, letterpress, offset litho, combination printing and digital printing.

This led to AWT Labels & Packaging Anaheim being selected for a Best of the Best award for its Rancho La Gloria Jalapeño Lime Infused Tequila entry.

This label was printed on both sides to give a view through the blue tequila. The face label is described the judges as ‘a nice looking label’, printed on a textured paper substrate. The clean, predominantly green image highlights all the ingredients used in the manufacture of this interesting spirit. The high gloss varnish emphasises the lime fruit and the main product names. Along with the neat application of gold foiling, ‘embossing adds a touch of class to the label which serves to produce a result that is worthy of a high value award.’ This entry was submitted to the L9 World Label Awards by TLMI.
