West Michigan Tag & Label (WMTL) has installed a Durst Tau 330 RSC E UV inkjet digital label press, introducing the supplier’s 1200dpi RSC E technology to the US state.

Operating out of Grand Rapids, WMTL was established in 1987 by Richard Rice. Producing a variety of labels and tags using flexo, offset and, since 2015, digital printing processes, WMTL has created a name for itself through strong sales and printing teams.

This has now been expanded with the addition of Durst’s 1200dpi UV inkjet digital printing technology, which Mr Rice, the printer’s president and CEO, said ‘will continue to set WMTL apart from the competition’.

As well as its achievable resolution, Durst’s RSC E technology offers a maximum print speed of 50m/min, upgradeable to 80m/min, with up to eight UV inkjet colour options available, and high opacity white ink for printing on metallic and clear materials.

‘We did an intensive search of the leading digital equipment available in the market and Durst was the only supplier who could match all the criteria we had set forward. The stunning print quality of the 1200dpi, with inkjet nozzle compensation feature and an excellent workflow software will continue to set WMTL apart from the competition.’

Steve Lynn, director, labels and packaging at Durst North America, commented, ‘Throughout the sales process we were challenged to prove all of our capabilities and learned that WMTL is striving to provide the best available solutions for their customers. We look forward to seeing how the introduction of 1200dpi quality helps the company gain new business.’
