Durham Box has created stand-out shelf-ready packaging (SRP) for start-up snack brand Snackzilla, printed on its EFI Nozomi C18000 press.

Snackzilla is an award-winning London-based business offering healthy oat cookies with a lower sugar content, and aimed at primary school aged children as a lunchbox or after-school snack. Snackzilla has recently partnered with Sainsbury’s to make its cookies available in 70 stores around the UK

With design of the SRP by Kingdom & Sparrow reflecting a character-led illustration in the style of a comic book design, Durham Box created three different digitally printed packs for chocolate, raspberry and syrup recipes on its EFI Nozomi C18000 digital press. In addition, the converter also supplied a flexo printed pack as a generic SRP.

Marieke Syed, Snackzilla founder, said, ‘We love the SRPs and have had lots of lovely compliments on them. We used Durham Box following great recommendations from other food start-ups. Its customer service is amazing, and really went above and beyond to get packaging to us at short notice.’

Durham Box was the first corrugated packaging manufacturer in the UK to offer single-pass LED inkjet production for packaging, POS displays and corrugated board, following its investment in the EFI Nozomi C18000.

Durham Box account manager Paul Barker said, ‘This was an all-round lovely project to be involved in. Given Marieke’s MOQ requirements, this work was ideally suited to our Nozomi press.

‘She was particularly impressed with the digital print finish, as she thought she’d paid extra for a varnish, but hadn’t – it was just the Nozomi process. Snackzilla is a great brand to work with and we look forward to further developing our association in the future.’
