US corrugated packaging converter CompanyBox has successfully completed its landmark HP PageWide press installation.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based business has now installed a second HP PageWide C500 digital press as part of a multi-million dollar investment that has significantly expanded its capacity and ability to serve customers across the US. The company now claims to have enough capacity and redundancy to serve customers’ needs within a 10-day window. It is also a world first as the only company to own and operate two HP PageWide C500 digital presses in the same building. The company recently added a second 65,000qft facility, giving it 180,000sqft of space completely dedicated to digital packaging production.

Specifically, the new C500 is equipped with a state-of-the-art stacker that allows CompanyBox to run small jobs continuously with larger runs without slowing down the press. CompanyBox CEO Louie DeJesus commented, ‘Combined with our platform and technology, we are providing our customers with new and innovative ways to capture the consumer’s attention. The package can now become a communication piece; personalized and targeted to specific geographic markets and events. Gone are the barriers and long lead times inherent in traditional platforms.’

Kyle DeJesus, CompanyBox president, added, ‘Customers do not need to settle for ‘close enough’ to get all the benefits digital packaging has to offer. Our suite of world-class printers allows us to work with brands like Polaroid, Lowe’s, and SnackMagic.’

Green Bay Packaging, which is a minority partner in CompanyBox, is in full support of the converter’s growth, as noted by Bryan Hollenbach, executive vice president at Green Bay Packaging.

‘CompanyBox is an industry leader in digital printing, service, and quality. This investment builds on the platform that CompanyBox established by being a pioneer in digital printing. Green Bay Packaging is excited to be a part of this investment and taking the next step in the journey.’
