Gallus has developed a new series of digital label presses under its Labelfire brand, said to offer an option for all printers, regardless of their level of experience and requirements.

The Labelfire Diamond Core Series includes four models, D1, D2, D3 and D4.

The D1 and D2 models are regarded as the ‘workhorses’ of the Diamond Core Series, printing on an industrial scale, stable, reliably and quick, direct from roll to roll. Available with or without digital white, they are suitable for all printing companies that have no need for inline finishing.

Specifically, the Labelfire D1 is a four-colour entry-level system with a 1200dpi resolution. Labelfire D2 runs seven colours, CMYK+GOV, for more challenging designs in cosmetic and body care products or whenever perfect colour matching is key. With the seven colours, the Labelfire D2 enables up to 94% of the simulated Pantone Plus colour scale to be hit.

Labelfire D3/D4 are hybrid platforms that provide a future-oriented investment path, according to Gallus.

Also available in four- or seven-colour configurations, with or without digital white, Labelfire D3/D4 presses feature integrated inline finishing and embellishing modules. The four-colour Labelfire D3 and seven-colour Labelfire D4 are equipped as standard with flexo and a die-cutting units for single-pass printing. In addition, and as required, laminating/varnishing or a cold foil unit can be integrated for creating finished labels.

At the heart of each Labelfire Diamond Core press is the digital print unit (DPU), the so-called ‘diamond core’, that enables high-quality 1200 x 1200dpi UV inkjet printing using Fujifilm’s established and proven Samba printheads. All models of the Labelfire Diamond Core Series can achieve a print speed up to 70 m/min and have the ability to print a variety of substrates.

Thomas Schweizer, head of business management at Gallus, commented, ‘With the Gallus Labelfire Diamond Core Series, we offer a suitable range for all types of printers, regardless of their level of experience and scope of requirements.

‘In addition, we offer a fully comprehensive service. With buying this machine, all maintenance work is included in the price for the first year of operation and thereafter our customers can choose from three service basic packages with the option of flexible expansion, from the low-cost basic rate to the all-round carefree package.’
