TFP of Poland has invested in an HP PageWide C500 digital corrugated press, the first to arrive in the country, as it looks to provide digital corrugated services to brands and converters across Europe.

The family-run company, which has specialised in the manufacture of corrugated board and packages since 1992, has installed the industrial-scale press at its main corrugated sheet and box plant in Kornik, Western Poland. The new machine will TFP to serve as a wholesale trade sheet converter for the local market as well as deliver on-demand, variable sized and personalised products for brand clients in Poland, Germany and Central Europe.

‘As a large market player, we are always focused on being the first to acquire and introduce new technology to fulfill our customers’ needs as soon as they arise in the market. We are always looking for the best machine available and the right target market,’ said Andrzej Tylenda, vice president of TFP. ‘The C500 will give us new possibilities to deliver a fast-change in graphics, different graphics for target markets, and marketing promotions such as beer packaging customized for local football clubs.’

According to Mr Tylenda, a key market for the HP PageWide corrugated print is TFP’s eco-concerned customers. ‘Companies more focused on the environment will choose the water-based ink solution and not UV,’ he said.

Mark Rowland, HP PageWide Industrial EMEA GTM manager added, ‘It’s exciting to see how TFP is taking the lead in launching a high-volume operational digital business model in their market with the high quality output, workflow and efficiency offered by the HP PageWide C500. Poland is a key strategic location for delivering digital advantage to Poland and its neighboring territories.’

HP PageWide’s C500 true water-based inks can be used to print the most sensitive corrugated box applications, including for food products and agricultural produce coming in direct contact with the inside of the box. The HP inks can meet stringent food safety requirements such as USDA FDA 21 CFR, Nestlé guidance, Swiss Ordinance, and EuPIA.

Designed for producing high quality print in demanding production environments, the press prints at 75m/min and reduces the cost of manufacturing boxes and opens new business opportunities with digital flexibility, direct-to-board printing, and scaled volume production.
