Sweden’s Boxon has become the first company in the Nordics to upgrade to HP Indigo’s new 6K model.

Boxon is a packaging company headquartered in Helsingborg, Sweden, with sales offices, production facilities and warehousing in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, as well as in Germany, France and Shanghai, China

The company is a long-standing user of HP technology to digitally print labels. 6K is part of HP Indigo’s latest update to its digital press portfolio. At Boxon, this has seen a 6900 model at its production facility in Borås upgraded. The new printing press has been installed by Visutech and is in full production.

As well as utilising the new Spot Master colour automation technology, designed to enable converters to reach brand colours within minutes, and several brand protection plays such as invisible colours and micro text, Boxon is using digital printing technologies such as the HP Indigo 6K to introduce web-to-print capability to its offer. Boxon has developed a web shop that allows customers to order and manage their various labels and packaging products online. More recently, it has launched the ‘Design your own label’ service.

‘We are developing this further and our ambition is for customers to be able to handle their designs and orders online’, the company stated.
