Lemon Labels has installed a Daco DF350SR digital label finishing line, expanding the UK printer’s finishing capacity and adding new novelties to its production.

The DF350SR is Lemon Labels’ third Daco Solutions machine, and has been purchased to finish labels printed on a toner-based digital press, and to produce plain labels for desktop inkjet and toner-based printing.

The Daco DF350SR is capable of applying a UV varnish or can laminate labels for added protection. The Daco DF350SR has seen significant upgrades to both its mechanics and software and now has an increased maximum production speed of 65m/min. Coupled with the ability to remove the 22in magnetic die cylinder and replace it with standard full rotary dies, this allows the die-cutting of labels to a maximum speed of 175m/min in register.

Lemon Labels founder Trevor Voisey commented, ‘As this is our third Daco machine, we knew to expect a top-quality, well thought out and reliable machine, but were still blown away by some of the features of this model.

‘The DF350SR is the perfect next step for us, as alongside our existing DTD250 machines this will not only allow us to increase capacity to deal with our growing demand. The DF350SR gives us the flexibility to offer in-house label tinting by using a RotoMetrics tinting kit, varnishing and single colour print with the UV flexo station; previously we had to outsource this requirement with varying degrees of success. The semi-rotary running mode also allows us to die-cut to registration and finish short to medium run digitally printed label work produced on our dry toner digital label press.’
