India’s Janus International, a provider of packaging and labelling products, has boosted its press fleet with an HP Indigo 6900 digital press upgrade.

Janus International provides printing services to a range of industries, including alcoholic beverages, cosmetics and pharmaceutical. The company has deployed HP Indigo digital printing technology for more than 11 years. Its digital fleet already includes the HP Indigo 4500 and the recently upgraded HP Indigo 6900.

With the HP Indigo 6900, Janus International can print a variety of packaging options at any run-length. At the same time, variable data printing helps the company personalise packaging as well as incorporate security features.

Specifically, the digital press is allowing Janus International to offer customers options such as shrink sleeves, cartons, pouches and in-mould labels. The upgrade has also enhanced the printer’s capability to address the requirements of a wider variety of brands, including small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients, for fast short-run production and packaging.

Janus International director Denver Annunciation said, ‘Conventional printing processes can be prohibitively expensive for brands with low-volume orders – a real issue if you’re a small business or cash-strapped start-up. The HP Indigo 6900 digital press allows us to meet our SME clients’ needs without the constraints of minimum order quantities.’

Mr Annunciation added, ‘Digital printing is the future and HP Indigo sure is playing its part in making it a great one.’
