Global Inkjet Systems (GIS) and Sakata INX Group have entered into a global strategic partnership that will see them collaborate on industrial inkjet projects.

This will leverage Sakata INX Group’s ink expertise and access to large end users and major OEMs, and GIS’s expertise in providing complete workflow systems for industrial inkjet applications.

GIS specialises in developing tailored software and system components for industrial markets, with over 13 years of proven innovation in the field. GIS technology is production capable and designed to work reliably in 24/7 rugged industrial settings for key industrial printing applications such as product decoration, labels, textiles, packaging, décor, 3D printing and materials deposition.

Sakata INX Group includes Sakata INX, INX International Ink and INX Digital EMEA. The group’s product portfolio includes printing inks and coatings for commercial, packaging and digital print applications, as well as pigment dispersion for color filtration and various functional coatings agents.  As a manufacturer of inkjet inks, it provides a full palette of digital ink systems, advanced technologies and integrated services.

GIS and Sakata INX believe that working closely together at the early stages of large strategic projects will be beneficial to customers. Both companies have close links with printhead manufacturers, with printhead and ink selection regarded as critical factors during the development phase of inkjet projects, particularly for applications such as packaging that are subject to demanding print requirements and regulatory conditions.

Debbie Thorp, business development director at GIS said, ‘At the start of any new project, we discuss whether a suitable ink has been identified for the application and substrate. It is often an afterthought and yet is so critical to the success of a project. So, when Sakata INX approached GIS last year to discuss a more integrated collaboration on some key projects, we were happy to agree. Together we can offer a powerful proposition to finding solutions to complex and demanding projects, helping companies transition from analogue to digital printing.’

Hiroshi Morita, senior executive officer, general manager, digital and speciality products division at Sakata INX, ‘Sakata INX is uniquely positioned to assist its customers with the right digital inks, consultation and service for a wide variety of applications employing an even wider array of digital printers and substrates. We selected GIS as a key partner to provide complete workflow solutions for industrial digital printing.

‘GIS and Sakata INX see opportunities to collaborate in several sectors and engage on projects with potential customers.’
