Intec Printing Solutions has launched the ColorCut LC600, an on-demand digital sheet label cutter designed to provide automatic sheet label cutting for digital print production users, without dies or associated set-up costs.

ColorCut LC600 is suitable for standard A4-SRA-3, A3+, and custom sheet sizes with maximum cutting length of 750mm. An auto stacker/feeder takes up to 250 sheets. The digital cutting head can apply up to 750g of pressure and cut at up to 960mm/s, enabling users to produce either one or indeed hundreds of sheets and thousands of labels. A dual grip feed system holds the media during cutting on both sides of the cutting head, enabling it to cut closer to the media edges than most other types of cutter.

Aimed at busy print departments seeking complete unattended cutting production, ColorCut LC600 combines reliable label-sheet feeding with an instant job retrieval system, ‘enabling effortless, yet precise, kiss cut label cutting at lightning-fast speeds,’ according to Intec.

A key feature of ColorCut LC600 is the use of QR codes and a job library to retrieve associated cut files, even for mixed job batch sessions. Being able to read and instantly retrieve the associated cut file for every sheet design on the fly means ColorCut LC600 can take a varied stack of jobs and cut one after the other, in a seamless and uninterrupted flow. SmartMark registration ensures cut accuracy. QR codes and SmartMarks are generated as part of the included ColorCut Pro software plugin, which integrates with vector artwork created in Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw.

Mark Baker-Homes, director of product development at Intec, said, ‘[We have] developed this really exciting product at a time when label suppliers need to offer an incredibly quick turnaround to companies requiring much needed health and safety labelling.’
