UK printer Amberley Labels has utilised its expertise in digital printing to help 6 O’clock Gin launch a new line of ready-to-drink canned gin and tonic (G&T) alcoholic beverages.

6 O’clock Gin produces artisan gins, handcrafted in small batches, using traditional skills and natural ingredients. Its gins have traditionally come in a blue glass bottle.

To introduce its new line of canned G&T, with a design that mirrors the blue glass bottle, Amberley  used its digital printing equipment to deliver cans that were inline with the brand.

This included a perfect colour match using six colours digitally printed onto the silver PP. Amberley’s digital presses are equipped with an inline spectrophotometer to create a closed loop colour management system, and to eliminate manual calibrations and adjustments.

In addition, printing a bespoke blue ink onto silver PP was noted as creating an added holographic effect when held to the light, boosting the labels’’ on-shelf appeal. The labels were finished with matte lamination.
