Domino Digital Printing Solutions has developed UV95, a new seven-colour food packaging compliant UV digital ink set.

UV95 has been formulated for many non-direct food packaging applications and, under the right conditions, is migration compliant. UV95 is compliant with EuPIA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), with all materials used listed on the Swiss Ordinance for Food Packaging Inks. UV95 has been developed in line with Nestlé’s guidance on food packaging inks and is fully compliant with the EuPIA exclusion policy. Further, it is a non-CMR ink set and therefore, subject to migration status, can comply with the EU plastic materials and articles intended to be in contact with food regulation. In addition to compliance, UV95 does not compromise reliability or other mechanical properties, also providing excellent adhesion properties and abrasion resistance., noted Domino.

The UV95 ink set is available as an option for use with the N610i digital label press.

Louise Adcock, N-series product manager at Domino, said, ‘UV95 sets a new standard for UV digital inks and their use within non-direct food contact applications.

‘Domino is one of the few digital inkjet printer manufacturers with the capabilities to design, develop and manufacture their own range of inks. The release of UV95 demonstrates our ability to provide customers with a reliable, robust and compliant ink set.’

UV95 will be introduced at Labelexpo Europe 2019.
