Hart Labels has hailed its new Dantex PicoColour UV inkjet digital label press as a ‘game-changer,’ after it helped the company reach new markets and move some existing flexo work that is better suited to digital.

The press, which was installed by the Burnley-based label manufacturer last December, has quickly realised a digital profit. Developed to address the continuing demand from major brands for value-added label and package printing, the press has a printing width of 210mm and running capacity of up to 35m/min. It works with UV-based inks and is available with CMYK + white, plus corona and variable data options.

‘This has been an important step-up for us as a business,’ explained managing director Tony Hanmer. ‘The PicoColour has made it so easy to be involved in the world of digital. There aren’t many other machines in the market that can do what the PicoColour does. If you are looking for your first piece of digital equipment, there is no better place to start than Dantex.’

‘The PicoColour was the ideal solution for Hart Labels,’ added Dantex’s general manager Andy Abbott. ‘With the majority of printers under market pressure to offer the benefits of digital print – shorter runs, flexibility, quick turnaround and cost-effective label solutions are key factors. We look forward to working together now and on future digital investments.’

Dantex will be showcasing the Pico range, along with its plate processing offering, at the Packaging Innovations show at the NEC, Birmingham on 27–28 February.
