SATO is showcasing it latest Auto-ID printer technology at the Carrefour des Fournisseurs de l’Industrie Agroalimentaire (CFIA) agro-food industry suppliers trade show in Rennes from March 12 to 14.

With more than a thousand exhibitors, the CFIA show is the largest event dedicated to the agro-food industry in France, where professionals gather to discover tomorrow’s major trends.

SATO, developers of automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) solutions based on bar-code and radio-frequency identification (RFID) technologies, is showcasing a wide range of its barcode printers suitable for all stages of agro-food production.

Products being showcased will include the Compact Lt SD printer, which provides a simplified label print and apply solution through its capacity to switch immediately between several formats and its rapid installation on all packaging lines. It is ideal for agro-food applications such as applying labels to pouches, trays or prepared dishes. It features high labelling throughput and standalone control, and does not need operation adjustments.

The TH2 label printer will also be at the show. Optimised for agro-food industry applications, it provides portable, self-contained and intelligent printing using a new concept in printing, AEP (Application Enabled Printing). The SATO software enables the user to create or update a software application very simply and transfer the corresponding information to the printer’s SD card via USB or LAN. It has applications covering many types of food industry activity, and is particularly suited to the fast food sector. Its real time internal clock can calculate and print on labels the sell-by date (and time), defrost date and use by date of products stored in a user-specific database, eliminating any risk of operator error.

SATO will also be showcasing its latest innovation, the GZ series printers, which are suitable for a wide range of dispatch and reception applications and use bar codes at the source to ensure end-to-end traceability, an essential factor in food safety. The GZ series of printers offers very fast data transmission, high processing speed and high-capacity on-board memory for quick and easy management of any label-printing requirement.
