A B Graphic International (ABG) has announced that its Girona, Spain, operation, formerly known as Enprom Solutions, will be renamed ABG Girona and become the group’s Centre of Excellence for Flexible Packaging.
The change follows ABG and Kocher+Beck’s acquisition of the Girona business in 2019 and marks a further integration of the operation into ABG’s wider business. Both companies remain shareholders in the business, which specialises in engineering and manufacturing equipment for the flexible packaging and label sectors.
The operation develops non-stop equipment, converting systems, sleeve solutions and automated lines, alongside bespoke engineering projects. Its products are used in applications across the flexible packaging and label industries.
Under the new structure, ABG Girona will take a more prominent role in the development of ABG’s flexible packaging portfolio, including its FlexPack offering. The Girona team’s engineering capabilities will be combined with ABG’s existing sales, service, manufacturing and product development operations.
“With Girona’s considerable engineering knowledge and expertise, particularly in flexible packaging, the transition from Enprom Solutions to ABG Girona is a natural progression,” said Simon Nadin, Group CEO of ABG.
“Establishing the site as our Centre of Excellence for Flexible Packaging brings that specialist capability together with ABG’s global resources, providing a strong platform for the continued development of FlexPack and our wider flexible packaging offering,” he added.
Mr Nadin continued stating that the change was intended to represent a longer-term commitment to the Girona operation rather than simply a change of name.
Joan Marc Taboas, CEO and executive director of ABG Girona, said the new identity would give the business a more visible position within the ABG Group while maintaining the engineering expertise and customer relationships developed under the Enprom Solutions name.
“This transition gives the Girona business a stronger and more visible identity within the ABG Group, while building on the engineering experience, customer relationships and entrepreneurial approach established as Enprom Solutions,” said Mr Taboas.
Kocher+Beck managing director Lars Beck said the integration would provide a foundation for further activity in flexible packaging while maintaining the company’s focus on its converter customers and workforce.
The business will continue to collaborate with Kocher+Beck in Germany on specialist projects and technology development.
