Nottingham-based manufacturer of custom labels and tags Sprite Labels has installed a new inkjet system to expand its production capabilities and meet evolving customer requirements.
The new i-JET600 label system, supplied by Inkjet Solutions, has been installed onto an existing Bar Graphic Machinery rewind slitter with a die-cutting press. The integration allows Sprite Labels to enhance its printing capabilities without replacing its core equipment. This marks the latest development in a long-standing partnership between the two companies.
Built around Kyocera print head technology, the i-JET600 supports monochrome printing from 108 to 556mm and CMYK colour printing up to 332mm wide. It offers a resolution of 600 x 600dpi with three grey levels and achieves print speeds of up to 200m/min at reduced resolution. The system is designed to retrofit existing machinery or integrate with new OEM systems, offering flexibility for future upgrades.
Tony Katsouris, managing director at Sprite Labels, said the investment was driven by the need to address customer demand for variable data applications such as barcoding and sequential numbering. “We’ve made strategic upgrades over time to stay aligned with what our clients require,” he said.
Looking ahead, Sprite Labels expressed an interest in sharing its experience with the broader industry. “We’re open to demonstrating the system’s capabilities to others in the trade,” Mr Katsouris stated.
