adelmo has named its first production partner, with Germany’s Digi-Service & Distributions to handle and produce orders for digital pouches coming from the DACH region.

Located in Willich and strategically positioned close to Dusseldorf in the northwest of Germany, Digi-Service & Distributions is led by managing director Janik Roeber.

adelmo is a recent addition to the digital flexible packaging landscape. It was introduced by Sihl late last year as an online B2B platform for the creation, order and fulfilment individually printed pouches. Using the adelmo website and an online 3D tool, customers can create individual designs ‘quickly and easily’ using native templates or those of their own making. Finished print files including the desired design can also be uploaded and used to generate a live preview of a stand-up pouch. Orders are then placed and paid for online, with the order sent to a local production partner, which produces the pouches and aims to deliver them within five days. Utilising Sihl’s inkjet-based Artysio technology, pouches are manufactured in line with adelmo’s stated standards to ensure consistency and quality across the adelmo partner network.

The product portfolio comprises stand-up pouches for the packaging of free-flowing dry products, such as snacks, coffee, tea, spices, food supplements and pet food sectors, and non-food markets such as cosmetics and cleaning products. Stand-up pouches from adelmo can be produced using mono-materials so enhancing their recyclability, feature reclosablity, offer aroma and oxygen protection, be light and waterproof, and be food compliant.
