Memjet has launched a new turnkey printing solution, the DuraBolt 325C PrintEngine. Complemented by a dedicated digital front end (DFE), DuraBolt is said to be easy to integrate and operate, delivering high speeds, precision print quality and broad functionality.

The DuraBolt 325C PrintEngine was purpose-built for high-volume print runs to deliver CMYK colour for sheet-fed, web-fed, simplex and duplex printing. Using Memjet’s proprietary printhead technology, DuraBolt can print at speeds of up to 135m/min. The engine images a width of up to 324mm (12.7in), using a tandem head design with two print heads. Each printhead can jet up to 240l of ink and delivers 4x nozzle redundancy for each colour. The system can achieve print resolutions of up to 1600 x 1280dpi, and is designed for extended production print runs with low maintenance requirements.

The DuraBolt DFE is built to support a range of applications. It provides process control and system automation and streamlines the interaction between the print engine and the rest of the print workflow. The Human-Machine Interface gives operators an interactive dashboard as well as real-time status of consumable levels, press components and environmental conditions.

Memjet’s fast-drying aqueous pigment ink, the DuraBolt is said to offer high quality across a range of commercial printing, industrial and packaging applications. The ink has been developed for safe use on food packaging and indirect food contact applications.

Jason Thelander, Memjet’s chief technology officer, commented on the launch, ‘DuraBolt helps our partners capture significant efficiency gains. You have reduced up-front development costs plus shorter maintenance cycles. Think rapid engine start-up, exceptional print speeds, extra-long print runs, automatic calibration, and reduced maintenance and you have a print solution that can deliver genuine competitive advantage. It’s a turnkey solution designed to mesh with existing infrastructure and fast-track commercialisation.’
