Enterprise Print Group of Knoxville, Tennessee has installed a Screen Truepress Jet L350UV SAI E UV inkjet digital label press, which is now the company’s primary source of production.

Specifically, the press – equipped with additional white and orange ink channels – is being used to produce UL certified labels for various indoor and outdoor applications.

Founded in 2018, Enterprise Print Group specialises in durable labels ideal for electrical appliances, medical devices and outdoor power equipment. To be UL certified, all labels must resist the effects caused by heat and moisture and outdoor labels need to stand the test against excessive sun exposure and abrasion.

Enterprise Print Group founder and president Kirk Icuss was drawn to the SAI series due to its speed, consistency and ability to print on multiple substrates without the need for primer. Vinyl, polyester, film and BOPP, complete with brushed, matte or clear finishes, are some of the substrates used by Enterprise Print Group. Printed labels can be up to 324mm wide and 3048mm long. The press prints more than 50 jobs per day using thousands of feet of material. A single job printed on 30,000 feet of polyester is not an unusual order for Enterprise Print Group. Printed reels go directly from the inkjet digital press to a high-speed roll-to-roll laser line. By minimising preparation and set-up time throughout its operation, from printing to finishing, Enterprise Print Group typically delivers its labels to its customers week a one-week lead time.

Mr Icuss commented, ‘The Screen press is not a short-run machine for us. This is a production press. It checks all of the boxes for what you want in a press: uptime, reliability, ink durability and print quality. Because different widths of material can run at top speeds on the SAI, the machine allows us to minimise waste and maximise throughput.’

He added, ‘Ink durability on a substrate without the need for primer is critical to our customers and to us.’
