Shenzhen Wancai Smart Packaging is to install one of Scodix’s next-generation Ultra presses focused on the packaging market, its third digital embellishment press from the Israel-based company.

In January 2021, Shenzhen Wancai Linglong Packaging set-up Wancai Smart Packaging, which incorporates enhancement work for the luxury packaging market. This includes work produced using an Ultra 1000 press that was installed during April this year. This was the company’s second Scodix Ultra digital enhancement press. A third, an Ultra 6000 model, is now planned to be installed, as Angela Zhang, Scodix’s China sales manager explained. ‘Shenzhen Wancai Smart Packaging, the owner of two Scodix Ultra presses, is now planning to install a Scodix Ultra 6000 B1 press to keep up with enhancement demand. With the additional capacity, the Scodix Ultra 6000 B1 press will deliver further cost savings for Shenzhen Wancai Smart Packaging, its brands, and its brand’s customers.’

Since installing the Ultra 1000, Shenzhen Wancai Smart Packaging has secured annual contracts worth over US $10 million in sales. The company currently has a heavy focus on the wine industry but is planning to expand into the beauty industry. One of its existing customers is Tang Dynasty Mizao, whose ‘Golden Top’ high-end liquor was presented with a Muse Design Award in recognition of the bottle and packaging, which was designed by Chengdu Fenggu Muchuang Packaging, and produced by Shenzhen Wancai Smart Packaging using its Scodix digital enhancement technology. Specifically, the outer packaging uses Scodix enhancement to beautify the calligraphy and various design elements.

Mr Yao, owner of Shenzhen Wancai Smart Packaging, stated, ‘Brands are increasingly producing packaging with Scodix digital enhancements following the installation of the Scodix Ultra 1000, and in conjunction with our existing Scodix Ultra press. In addition, these same brands have stepped up their design game to make their packaging extremely unique and beautiful. We are even seeing these packages win awards and become collectables. It is simple, the more unique the packaging, the more value it brings to everyone.’
