Xeikon is to make digital pouch production, and its fleXlow technology, the focus of a Xeikon Café TV session on 15 October, 2020.

The session will look at the complete process of digital pouch production, from printing on Xeikon dry toner presses to converting and pouch making. The webinar will include demonstrations of Xeikon’s CX500 digital press, LCoat 500 and Karlville pouch converting. UK converter CS Labels will be involved in the session to discuss its experience with fleXflow and Karlville, through its KS-DSUP-400-GSW pouch making line.

The UK converter was integral to the development and launch of fleXflow, and has recently enhanced its pouch making activities with installation of the KS-DSUP-400-GSW.

Xeikon product experts will be joined by CS Labels managing director Simon Smith, the converter’s operations director, Adam James, and Gustavo Guzzi, EMEA sales manager at Karlville.

The 15 October Xeikon Café TV session is described as a ‘must-attend’ for label converters. Stefan Clopterop, market segment manager, labels at Xeikon, explained, ‘Digital Pouch production is a perfect fit for label converters looking to diversify and expand their business.

‘Xeikon’s fleXflow process revolutionises pouch making by offering ‘zero-after-cure’ of the laminate. This is an eco-friendly solution by not using solvents during print and lamination plus high bonding strength and low complexity in the handling and construction of many different types of pouch.’

He continued, ‘We are holding this Xeikon Café TV demonstration to give converters the confidence to step into new markets. The production of pouches can be combined with an existing label business which is an attractive option, thereby easing the burden of a financial risk which is sometimes linked to entering new markets. The opportunities at present have never been higher. During this current Covid-19 pandemic there have been significant increases in e-commerce and higher local demand because of disrupted supply chains from other countries. Brand owners are looking for local suppliers of pouches to secure and improve the flexibility of their supply chain and ensure the safety of their products.’
