Japanese press builder Komori has become the latest name to pull out of exhibiting at drupa 2021.

In a statement, Komori noted, ‘the comprehensive decision to suspend the exhibit is made in response to the continued raging of the novel coronavirus infectious disease and its serious impact to the economy of both the developed and emerging countries, taking into consideration the potential risks of second or third surge of the pandemic, and to put highest priority in securing the health and safety of our global customers as well as our employees.’

Komori’s press collaboration with Landa, Impremia NS40, was expected to be a big part of its presence at drupa 2020, had the show gone ahead as planned.

The company statement continued, ‘While an extremely unusual circumstance prevents Komori from participating in drupa 2021, our plan is to launch an array of new products and services in the days to come, through open house events and active participations to regional exhibitions. New information will also be released utilising various media such as corporate websites, information and video distribution service using emails or SNS, online exhibitions and webinars.

‘The pace of social and industrial structure change have accelerated rapidly in 2020, transforming the operating climate of the printing industry. Aiming to become a company that inspire customer Kando, ‘beyond expectations’, Komori always puts customers first. We will always listen to our customers, develop and deliver innovate technologies and services that are essential for printing companies worldwide to adapt to such climate changes.’

Komori joins Heidelberg, Bobst, Xerox and Manroland Sheetfed in cancelling their participation at the rearranged drupa, scheduled for 20-30 April, 2021.
