UK-based printer Mercian Labels has named Jean Michel Sintome as its new operations director.

Operations director is a new role at Mercian Labels and is intended to enhance the current management team and increase momentum in the company’s drive towards world-class manufacturing.

Mr Sintome brings a wealth of operational leadership expertise to the role, as well as experience in building high performance teams, delivering business transformation and introducing dynamic culture change programmes.

He has worked in a variety of positions such as operations director, manufacturing director and quality director at blue-chip corporations like Pernod Ricard and IDEMIA, as well as international companies in the nuclear, oil and gas, engineering, defence and technology sectors.

The appointment of Mr Sintome is identified as being in line with the printer’s ‘robust growth strategy’.

Mercian Labels is marking 50 years in business this year. It operates from a state-of-the-art factory in Burntwood, Staffordshire and employs approximately 50 people. It serves some 9,000 business customers worldwide, and in addition to its core portfolio of self-adhesive labels, it manufactures the LabelLock brand of security labels and the Gammatex brand of gamma irradiation indicators, both sold globally.
