The programme for the next Digital Print for Brand Success conference continues to shape up, with Mondelez International joining to address attendees on its success with digital printing.

Patrick Poitevin, principal scientist at Mondelez International, is confirmed to speak at the 21 November event in London. In his presentation in the afternoon, Mr Poitevin will talk about the brand owner’s successful application of digital printing for cartons, flexibles and labels in markets around the world. He will touch on at what the company has learnt over the years and highlight some of the things to watch out for to ensure success.

Digital printing has been a passion for Mr Poitevin for a long time, having introduced digital printed labels on Marks & Spenser products some 17 years ago. At Mondelez International, he has been promoting digital printing, and digital technologies in general, since he joined the company nearly 12 years ago. This includes digital printing of labels, cartons, corrugated, shrink sleeves, and more challenging non-barrier flexible materials. He is now leading the digital printing platform (and everything digital technology associated) within Mondelēz International, global and cross category. Successful activations so far include in North and South America (flexible packaging), Mexico and China (cartons), and personalisation exercises for Cadbury, Milka, Toblerone, etc in markets around the world.

Mr Poitevin joins a programme that includes presentations from: Johnny Hobeika, managing director, ePac Holdings Europe, on ‘Disrupting brand packaging with digital’; Daniel Morris, managing director, Durham Box, on ‘Harnessing the benefits of digital for corrugated’; Jen Newell, head of realisation, Pearlfisher, on ‘Digital print: the challenge for designers’; and Mark Shayler, director and owner, Ape, who will give the keynote presentation looking at how big brands are changing their behaviour in an attempt to understand who their consumers are and stay relevant, and how small brands have disrupted the status quo.
