Mark Andy has added the Digital Pro line of CMYK dry toner presses, the latest addition to its digital printing offering.

Available for immediate order, the Digital Pro product line includes the configurable roll-to-roll Digital Pro 1 and a configurable inline hybrid model, Digital Pro 3. The systems are priced starting at $199,000  and $295,000, respectively.

Digital Pro 1 comes fitted with an unwind, state-of-the-art print engine and rewind, with a 12.5in digital print width. Digital Pro 1 is described as suitable for plants with established converting and finishing workflows, simplifying digital print for operators to the click of a button. As business and workflows evolve, the modular nature of Digital Pro 1 provides an upgrade path with scalable inline printing and converting options, according to Mark Andy.

Digital Pro 3 includes a multi-purpose flexo station for inline embellishment and is driven by a DFE that supports variable data printing and versioning for short and micro runs.

Digital Pro 3 can be configured with a single slot die station or with a semi-rotary die module to finish labels inline. The semi-rotary system reduces die inventory and comes with a standard 19in magnetic cylinder to accommodate most repeats without tool changeover.

Both offer a 23.4m/min (77ft/min) production speed for all applications and low cost to print. Mark Andy noted this as allowing businesses priced out of larger production systems the opportunity to benefit from digital.

Joe Calmese, chief business officer, Mark Andy Digital, said, ‘Printing digital at high speeds with inline converting is at the top of many converter’s wish lists. Same with roll-to-roll devices. We’ve been listening. The end result is the Digital Pro line with configurable hybrid print systems that provide a powerful path to profitability, both now and in the future as we continue to push the envelope in digital innovation.’

Their launch follows Mark Andy and Konica Minolta renewing their strategic partnership.

The Digital Pro product line joins Mark Andy’s existing Digital Series HD inkjet-flexo hybrid platform and toner-based Digital One presses. Digital One press owners are eligible for a field upgrade of the new Digital Pro engine into their existing machine to optimise production and help increase margins with a substantially lower cost to print structure. The Digital Pro engine upgrade provides a 70 percent increase in speed and a 30 percent lower cost to print over the previous generation Digital One press. Current Digital One customers will continue to receive support and service from Mark Andy.

The Digital Pro product line will be showcased at regional events throughout North America starting this month. The machines will make their European debut at Labelexpo Europe 2019.
