MPS has developed an updated version of its EF Symjet hybrid press, which will be demonstrated at Labelexpo Europe 2019 integrated with a new inkjet module from Domino, N617i.

By integrating N617i, the hybrid press is now available in a 430mm (17in) width. It has also been painted in a new colour scheme. The N617i is based on Domino’s N6-series inkjet product range and has been exclusively designed for MPS.

Equipped with five flexo stations, digital cold foil, a Kurz cold foil unit for single images and optical effects, lamination and die-cutting, the EF Symjet at Labelexpo Europe 2019 will print and show unique label applications.

Hans Poortinga, manager of the MPS Technology & Expertise Centre, commented, ‘At Labelexpo Europe, our goal is to push the limits of flexo and inkjet printing and converting by creating the most exclusive and highly-complicated labels. Visitors will see the combination of two different foils, 3D lenticular labels and variable data, and learn first-hand how hybrid printing can evolve their business.’

EF Symjet forms part of MPS’s ‘Beyond the Machine’ theme at Labelexpo Europe 2019, which will focus on four key processes that extend beyond the printing press: connectivity, applications, productivity and service.

MPS CEO Atze Bosma explained, ‘Yes, our presses are top-quality, but we offer label printers and converters much more. High-level service, and our knowledge of connectivity and productivity are the foundation for optimal lifecycle performance of MPS machines. The result: extremely efficient production of highest quality applications.’

Deliveries of the wider EF Symjet are to begin in January 2020.
