Spanish manufacturer of corrugated presses, Barberán has entered into an agreement with Esko to work together on a software solution that will automate the pre-press workflow for the Jetmaster Series of digital printers.

The relationship was consolidated during the recent Open House event where, according to Chris Rogers, Esko solutions marketing manager, Barberán demonstrated leading edge technology to a highly receptive audience of corrugated converters. This collaboration will combine the expertise of both companies and exploit the synergy between their respective product portfolios.

The open house welcomed over a 100 visitors, who saw the Jetmaster 1750 corrugated press in action, along with presentations from a number of partners. New software for the pressline line was demonstrated, including a variable data printing option, which allows personalisation of the design with messages, images, barcodes or QR codes, in real time, at high printing speeds.

Barcelona-headquartered Barberán was an early entrant into the corrugated sector using modified machines from the printed décor sector. It now has many installations in packaging in Europe and North America. The Jetmaster range of single-pass inkjet presses are available in three models, in widths up to 1890mm. They print using UV inks in CMYK with orange and violet as options, and the printing speed is up to 80m/min.
