Sharp Iris presented its personalised packaging solution, powered by Smartflow, at the Lion’s Lair competition and was awarded with the title of most innovative product.

Held at Packaging Innovations 2014, NEC Birmingham, the competition was judged by key industry figures; Neil Richards, senior development manager, at The Body Shop, Steve Jackson, packaging development manager, at Morrison Supermarkets and Lindsey Murray, senior packaging technologist, at Thorntons.

Powered digitally from design through to print, Smartflow enables brands and retailers to connect directly with consumers using digitally printed, personalised packaging. Smartflow collates, controls and manages data and imagery, producing printable artwork, which can be fed directly to a digital press.

It can enable consumers to order a product, personalise the packaging and receive it in the post, direct to their door. The communication loop can then be completed by consumers feeding back to brands and retailers via social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
