Xeikon showed its Folding Carton Suite at Ipex

At Ipex, Xeikon showed its newly enhanced version of the Folding Carton Suite. This offers a basic press configuration where the print stations are equipped with orange toner, in combination with CMYK. The extended colour gamut achieved with this configuration ensures the accurate production of a wider range of brand colours.

‘The new configuration with orange toner is the result of Xeikon’s listening to and answering the needs of today’s brand owners and packaging converters,’ commented Philip Weymans, director segment marketing and business development, labels & packaging. ‘With orange toner, we ensure the best possible match for the broadest array of brand colours.’ Also included in the Folding Carton Suite is the cloud-based Xeikon Color Control to make colour management even easier.

Xeikon Denny Bros

The configuration with a 3500 press equipped with ICE toner on the stand at the show was sold to Suffolk-based Denny Bros Ltd. (L-R) Colin Hunt, production director, and Graham Denny, commercial Director, Denny Bros, with Duncan Sargeant, Xeikon.

CEO Wim Maes said, ‘The versatility of the Xeikon Folding Carton Suite particularly appealed to Denny Bros and we are very pleased to be working with this leading specialist print company. The company tested a variety of substrates on the machine before making the final decision.’

He continued, ‘Xeikon is very focused on the short run folding carton market and we have seen that our customers are very successful with this product. This fits well with the new ownership’s strategy of heavy investment in both R&D and in people. Our aim is to be number 1 or 2 in the niche markets that we are involved with and to form close customer relationships. We are not just here to sell machines, we want to do good business with our customer and provide a solution.’

Graham Denny, Denny Bros commercial director, said, ‘We have examined the digital label market for over two years, looking at all of the leading suppliers in that time. The wider format of the Xeikon 3500 will allow us to offer something different to our competition.’
