Dantex chose Labelexpo Europe as the launch site for its PicoColour II digital inkjet press, which the company describes as an affordable digital printing option.

Richard Danon, group chairman, presented the machine to the press stating, ‘We made this press to serve those printers who need a digital solution to meet the trend of short run lengths and so that they can provide their customers with all the aspects of digital printing.’

The unit can run up to 35 m/min and prints up to a native resolution of 1013 dpi using Xaar printheads. The ink is continuously circulated around the ink system and the printheads, even while the machine is not running, to make sure the ink does not dry and clog the heads.

Marketed as an affordable option, the PicoColour II starts from £180,000 in a CMYK configuration.

Mr Danon added, ‘We are not going for the top of the triangle with this press as that section of the market is already cornered. The release of this machine has not changed our relationship with Screen, which remains strong, as we feel their solution takes care of that top section of the market.’

Dantex is currently resellers for Screen’s Truepress Jet L350UV digital label press.
