Under the theme ‘From concept to execution and the world of possibilities for labels and packaging’, the outline programme for the Digital Print for Brand Success conference has been unveiled.

Among the speakers at this important industry event is Paul Earnshaw, who is packaging manager at Tesco. He will be looking at digital print from the customer’s point of view, asking ‘Digital innovation – why should the customer care?’ In his presentation, Mr Earnshaw will analyse how customers experience packaging, whether in store or online, and look at how they feel at the various stages of this interaction. He said, ‘Digital printing offers huge opportunities for both the retailers and suppliers, but just telling the customer that the pack has been printed digitally or putting their name on it isn’t a game changer.’

The programme will also explore the most recent markets where digital print is making inroads, through case studies and printers’ experiences. This includes corrugated packaging and folding cartons – sectors that are set to be transformed over the next few years – and also inkjet technology, another game changer for the digital print market.

Looking much further ahead will be The Futurists Panel, which will hear from Alvise Cavallari, who is leading the corporate digital printing initiative at Nestlé, and Stefan Casey, who is the business innovation manager at The Retail Institute.

The conference takes place on Thursday 24 November 2016 at the IET London Savoy Place. To book tickets, please contact Chloe Ward on chloe.w@whitmar.co.uk
