The EFX Print Bar offers four types of digital embellishment
At Labelexpo 2017, Edale will be showcasing its new EFX Print Bar, a digital solution for added value embellishment of labels and packaging.
The new print bar comes with four types of digital embellishment and can be fitted on web presses up to 560mm wide.
EFX DF (digital foil) produces detailed and tactile foil effects, while EFX DW (digital white) is a digital alternative to opaque white screen-printing. EFX HB is a High Build varnish system for printing a range of textured effects on labels and folding cartons. Combining the EFX HB varnish system with Edale’s foiling system expands the capability to produce Digi-Foil. EFX PR is a digital solution for the manufacture of peel and reveal labels. The EFX PR (digital peal and read) can print black or grey text directly onto the adhesive, thus eliminating the need for flexo plates. Digitalising the peel and reveal process reduces set-up times and enables variable data to be added.
Lee Deyes, the company’s technical specialist for hybrid print, said, ‘Following extensive market trials, we are excited to launch a new range of digital embellishment solutions for the labels and packaging industry. This technology will reduce set-up times and because they are digital they can print variable data so every image can be unique.’
