Danny Mertens, Xeikon corporate communciations manager, spoke about the future of the company’s Café events in Europe

The European edition of Xeikon’s educational and networking event is set to be repeated annually instead of every two years, except in drupa years, it has been revealed.

The fourth Café event is scheduled for 20-23 March 2018. With a focus on packaging, it will include a conference with more strategic presentations and an educational Academy with more technology-driven presentations and practical workshop sessions, explained corporate communications manager Danny Mertens.

‘Our goal is to operate the Xeikon Café as an independent industry event and make it as agnostic and educational as possible,’ he said. ‘We want it to benefit the industry at large, helping people understand the new opportunities digital production can bring to their businesses and inspiring them to achieve new heights with creative packaging innovations.’

Last year, almost 1000 visitors came to Xeikon’s headquarters in Lier, near Antwerp. Printers and converters accounted for 60%, while 20% were brands and designers and the remainder members of the media and analyst community, partners and other industry influencers.
