Gallus is set to broaden its digital offering with the introduction of a new entry-level digital label press. The Smartfire has been developed as ‘an affordable solution for any label printer, who is interested in going into digital label printing,’ said the company in a statement.

The new press will be officially unveiled at the Gallus Innovation Days at the end of June. The open house event will be held at the company’s headquarters in St Gallen, in Switzerland, where a number of its presses and solutions will be demonstrated in the new Print Media Centre Label. Amongst them will be the Labelfire 340 hybrid press, which will be shown, fitted with a newly developed screen-printing unit for adding high opacity white.

More than 30 partners will also be present at the event, which is held under the motto ‘Solutions for Printing Champions.’ Gallus and Heidelberg have expanded the exhibition area and are expecting up to 1000 visitors.
