Todd Smith

Ahead of new plans for its packaging division, Antalis has appointed a new senior packaging technologist. This latest move follows a six-figure investment in new CAD design capabilities, as part of the company’s focus on offering personalised consultancy to customers.

Todd Smith joins the business in the newly-created position, bringing with him experience of modern packaging design and development, and the associated software, having previously worked as a CAD designer for a protective packaging specialist.

Mr Smith will oversee the running of the in-house CAD design consultancy offer, which will include creating new bespoke packaging ideas for customers, providing sample runs and testing their current packaging materials. In addition, he will also play an active role in supplier relationships.

Based at the Hilltop headquarters, in Coalville, Mr Smith will report to head of the packaging technologist team, Jason Poxon, who commented, ‘Over recent years, the packaging industry has seen a real shift towards bespoke design and personalisation, both in terms of the aesthetics and functionality of a packaging concept. Aligned to this, Antalis Packaging is now able to provide bespoke packaging designs for customers in-house, enabling them to benefit from a unique pack design developed to their exact needs.

‘This follows in our continued commitment to providing the ‘best in class’ packaging proposition on the market. Todd’s role is integral to this, with his skills and experience we are confident we can continue to lead the way in providing customers with the ultimate solution for even the most complex packaging problems.’
