Supplier of printing inks and coatings for packaging and labels Siegwerk has announced a new five-year strategic agenda called Formula 2030, outlining the company’s priorities through to the end of the decade.
The plan builds on the company’s previous strategy, New Horizons 2025+, and is intended to guide Siegwerk’s development as it responds to changing market conditions, regulatory requirements and sustainability expectations. According to the company, the strategy aims to support sustainable and profitable growth while strengthening its position in global packaging ink and coating markets.
The strategy will be implemented through initiatives across four main areas: competitiveness, sustainability, digitalisation and people.
Competitiveness will focus on ensuring reliable supply, strong product performance and cost-efficient operations; for sustainability, Siegwerk said it will continue integrating responsible practices across its value chain; for digitalisation, the company plans to expand its digital infrastructure and integrate value-chain processes, alongside increasing the use of AI and data-driven systems; and for people, Siegwerk will continue investing in skills and knowledge to help customers.
The launch comes at a time when companies across the packaging supply chain are navigating economic uncertainty, geopolitical developments and evolving regulatory frameworks. Siegwerk said Formula 2030 provides a framework for operating in this environment while continuing to expand its global presence.
“Formula 2030 reflects our confidence in the path ahead,” said Dr Nicolas Wiedmann, chief executive officer of Siegwerk. “Building on strong foundations, we are raising our ambition for what Siegwerk can achieve globally. With our strategic agenda for the next five years, we reinforce our commitment to responsible business development, customer-focused innovation and long-term value creation in the markets we serve.”
